TALAS Produces the First Cybersecurity Resource for Center State CEO’s Click Platform

TALAS Security was asked to produce the first Cybersecurity resource for CenterState CEO’s click platform, as a part of their resource library. The focus of the video is how thinking like an Attacker helps to identify SMB’s Cybersecurity controls along the path an Attacker takes. It’s exciting for the opportunity to focus on making Cybersecurity a part of SMB's strategic operations and planning. Paul and Owahn (co-founders) want to acknowledge the power of partnership in this effort and extend a huge thank you to Black Cub Productions, LLC (Mylz Blake, Eric Derachio Jackson Jr) and CenterState CEO (Jessica Underwood).  

This initiative gave TALAS Security the opportunity to execute one of theirs values in educating our local communities on the importance of Cybersecurity being a part of every small to medium size businesses (SMB’s) strategic plan. The five-minute video walks through how thinking like an Attacker enables SMBs to focus on two principal areas disruption and defense in depth. The more an Attacker can be disrupted along their path the more likely the Attacker is to abandon their mission, meaning success for the organization.

The Cyber Kill Chain developed by Lockheed Martin is a great model to understand the various steps an Attacker takes to achieve their mission. There are seven stages each with a unique objective by the Attacker but also an equal opportunity for SMBs to apply Cybersecurity controls. This is the culmination, thinking like an Attacker helps SMBs to identify risk and establish controls at all layers implementing the concept of defense in depth. A single element of control or stopping an Attack at a single point will not work. It is about reducing risk by utilizing all control elements, that being, Directives, Standards, Policies, Services, Technologies, Processes, and People. Change the way you think about Cybersecurity to maximize the effectiveness of your existing Cybersecurity controls.
